Turnstones
Inspired by reading of an experiment conducted to find out if birds recognise individuals by their plumage. Some Turnstones were removed from their companions and their plumages was altered with the use of vegetable dyes. These individuals were then returned to their flock and were subsequently shunned by their fellow turnstones.
